چکیده
A combined experimental and numerical investigation of partially premixed laminar methane-air flames undergoing side-wall quenching (SWQ) is performed. well-established SWQ burner adapted to allow the seeding main flow with additional gaseous products issued from a (secondary) wall inlet close flame’s point. First, characteristics flame that quenches at are assessed using planar laser-induced fluorescence measurements OH radical, corresponding simulation fully-resolved transport chemistry conducted. boundary layer enriched mixture formed wall, leading reaction zone parallel for high injection rates inlet. Subsequently, in study, inflow mixed dimethylmethylphosphonat (DMMP), phosphor-based retardant. The DMMP addition allows assessment effects heat loss retardants on structure during flame-wall interaction. With an increasing amount injected mixture, stabilizes further away shows decrease local heat-release rate. Thereby, maximum flux significantly reduced. That results lower thermal load wall. analysis accumulation intermediate species HOPO similar CO without retardant addition. study how influenced by releases either fuel or insights gained canonical configuration can lead better understanding losses near-wall flames.

Flame Flashback and Propagation of Premixed Flames near a Wall
The flashback or propagation of premixed flames along the near-wall low-velocity region at the base of a laminar boundary layer of a reactive mixture has been studied numerically. The analysis, carried out using the constant density approximation for an Arrhenius overall reaction, accounts for the effects of the Lewis number of the fuel. The flow field, as seen by an observer moving with the fr...
متن کاملEffect of pressure on counterflow H2–air partially premixed flames
A computational investigation of high-pressure hydrogen–air partially premixed flames (PPFs) is reported to characterize the effect of pressure on the flame structure, and the relevance of reaction limits for these flames. The flames are computed using the Mueller mechanism consisting of 19 elementary reactions and 9 species. Although the mechanism has been validated during previous investigati...

متن کاملFlame Speed Characteristics of Syngas (H2-CO) with Straight Burners for Laminar Premixed Flames
Laminar flame speeds of undiluted syngas (H2/CO) mixtures have been studied at atmospheric conditions using chemiluminescence and schlieren techniques for a straight cylindrical burner apparatus. A wide range of mixture composition, from pure H2 to 1/99 % H2/CO, has been investigated for lean premixed syngas flames. To achieve a better flame stabilization and reduce flame flashback propensity, ...
متن کاملGravity Effects Observed in Partially Premixed Flames
INTRODUCTION Partially premixed flames (PPFs) contain a rich premixed fuel–air mixture in a pocket or stream, and, for complete combustion to occur, they require the transport of oxidizer from an appropriately oxidizer–rich (or fuel–lean) mixture that is present in another pocket or stream. Partial oxidation reactions occur in fuel–rich portions of the mixture and any remaining unburned fuel an...
